Peaceable Kingdom, a daily Video Dog photo feature of cute shots from the animal kingdom

Dec 1, 2005 | Every day we'll run a picture of a cute, fluffy animal. Why? Because everyone's day goes better once they've seen a cute, fluffy animal. Also, because we're shameless panderers. This photo shows Hogan, a Rhodesian Ridgeback, with his charge, Bella, a fawn. Bella was taken in by Hogan's owners -- finding her huddled under their porch, they assumed that her mom must've met a sad fate. And Hogan quickly took responsibility for her. Aw.

Send us your photos of cute, fluffy animals getting along together, and we'll run them in our Peaceable Kingdom series, a seemingly frivolous feature that's actually a deeply nuanced political statement. E-mail to: videodog@salon.com.
